Bu çalışmada İslam âleminde “Muallim-i Sânî” (ikinci öğretmen) ola-rak tanınan Fârâbî’nin cins kavramı anlayışı ortaya konulmaya çalışıl-mıştır. Daha çok filozofun mantık eserlerine bağlı kalarak cins kavra-mının mantıksal anlamı üzerinde durulmuştur. Fârâbî, risalelerinde cins kavramını ayrıntılı bir şekilde inceleyerek kısımlarından ve derecelerin-den bahsetmiştir. Beş tümel olarak bilinen cins, tür, ayrım, hassa ve ilinti kavramlarından ilki ve en önemlisi diye ifade edebileceğimiz kav-ram cins kavramıdır. Zira o, kavramlar mantığında ve tanım teorisinde sıklıkla kullanılan zâtî (özsel) bir kavramdır. Dolayısıyla kavramların ve tanımların bu konuların iyi bir şekilde anlaşılabilmesi için cins kavra-mının özümsenmesi gerekmektedir. Ayrıca cins çalışması yapmak aynı zamanda ontoloji çalışması yapmaktır. Dolayısıyla dolaylı yönden de ol-sa ontoloji çalışması da yapmış olacağız. Bunun nedeni de cinslerin nesnelerin özüyle ilgili olmasıdır.
In this study in the Islamic world, the "Muallim-i Sânî" (the second teacher) was known as the "gender concept" of the Farabi. More than the philosopher’s work of logic is focused on the logical meaning of gender concepts. In the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Qur’an was revealed in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The first and most important of the five all-known concepts of gender, type, distinction, hassa and connection is the concept of gender. For it is a commonly used concept in the logic of concepts and the theory of definition. Therefore, the concepts and definitions need to be absorbed by gender concepts in order to be well understood by these subjects. Also doing gender study is also doing ontology study. So we’ll also be doing the ontoological work indirectly. This is because the species are related to the essence of the objects.
In this study, the concept 'universal genus' belong to al-Fârâbî known as “second teacher” in Islamic world has been tried to reveal. What univer-sal genus means depend on works of the philosopher has been empha-sized. al-Fârâbî, in his tractates broached sections and levels by exam-ining universal genus in a comprehensive manner. Among concepts known as five predicables; genus, species, difference, property and ac-cident as we can define, the first and the most important one is the concept 'genus universal' because it is an essential (zatî) concept fre-quently used in the concept logic and definition theory. Therefore, it is necessary to perceive the concept ‘genus’ to understand these issues. Additionally, to research genus also means researching ontology. There-fore, we will handle ontology indirectly due to the fact that genuses are related to the essence of objects.
