Abstract:

Erdinç Bakla, for more than 50 years, has been one of the most prominent names in the modern speech of ceramic art in Turkey. The basis of this speech is that he is an artist who, in addition to his educational and cultural accumulations, is able to research, practice and synthesize other disciplines. The ceramic statues of Erdinç Bakla have been contemporary idols that have brought the viewers to travel from the Hits to the Greek civilizations in many periods. These idols, where the cultural heritage of Anadolu is transformed into a ceramic statue, present the traces of past civilizations with a contemporary and aesthetic concern. The artist produces many works that carry the traces of the lands in which he lives, but also addresses the aesthetic perception of modern man and is mentioned with these modern idols that are identified with himself. Specifically to its contemporaries and to the future generations, Bakla, which has insisted on the need to be influenced by the traces of the geography in which it is located and to continue this cultural heritage, has created its own style in this direction. The artist who always emphasizes the importance of the cultural archive and thus a wide digital archive consisting of his contemporary works also aims to meet with the interested; in the context of the ceramic sculptures in which Anadolu and its interior exhibits its modern art path, art and cultural heritage can be considered among the most impressive examples in the intersection.
