Matbaa, bilginin hızlı ve ucuz bir biçimde toplumsallaşmasını sağlaması bakımından tarihte çok kritik bir işleve sahiptir. Matbaanın bu özelliğini ortaya çıkaran en önemli vasıtalardan biri, ilk örnekleri 17. yüzyılda görülen gazetelerdir. Osmanlı Devleti’nde yayınlanan ilk Türkçe gazete, 1831’de çıkmaya başlayan Takvim-i Vekayi’dir. Meşrûtiyet dönemi, gazete yayınları için önemli bir sıçrama noktasıdır. Özellikle Meşrûtiyet’in ikinci kez yürürlüğe girmesinden sonra hem ulusal hem de yerel ölçekte geniş bir yayın faaliyeti söz konusudur. Bu çerçevede Amasya’da Meşrûtiyet döneminde iki, Millî Mücadele döneminde beş Türkçe gazete yayınlanmıştır. Bu gazetelerden Amasya ve Amasya’da Emel gazeteleri, kalıcı ve etkili olmaları bakımından özellikle dikkat çekicidir. Eksikleri olmasına rağmen bu iki gazetenin günümüze ulaşmış nüshaları diğerlerine göre çok daha fazladır. Ayrıca bu gazeteler Millî Mücadele yıllarında kurulmuş, Cumhuriyet döneminde de yayınlarına devam etmişlerdir. Amasya gazetesi, başlığının altında “Vilâyetin Resmî Gazetesidir” ibaresini taşımaktadır. Bu gazete, içeriği itibariyle merkezi çevreye taşıyan, resmî bilgilerin kamuoyuna ulaşmasını sağlayan bir çizgidedir. Buna mukabil Amasya’da Emel gazetesi, her ne kadar genç Cumhuriyet’in temel prensiplerini benimsemiş görünse de mahallî iktidar odaklarına karşı muhalif bir duruş sergilemektedir. Bu çalışma, Amasya’da yayınlanan ilk gazetelere ilişkin tespit edilen yeni verileri literatüre kazandırmanın yanı sıra Amasya ve Amasya’da Emel gazetelerinin yayın politikalarına ilişkin tespitleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır.
The printing press has a very critical function in history in terms of enabling the rapid and cheap socialization of information. One of the most important tools that reveal this feature of the printing press is newspapers, the first examples of which were seen in the 17th century. The first Turkish newspaper published in the Ottoman Empire was Takvim-i Vekayi, which started to appear in 1831. The Constitutional Monarchy period is an important jumping point for newspaper publications. Especially after the Second Constitutional Monarchy came into force, there was a wide range of publishing activities on both national and local scales. In this context, two Turkish newspapers were published in Amasya during the Constitutional Monarchy period and five during the War of Independence. Among these newspapers, Amasya and Amasyada Emel newspapers are particularly noteworthy in terms of being permanent and effective. Despite their shortcomings, the surviving copies of these two newspapers are much more than the others. In addition, these newspapers were established during the War of Independence and continued their publication during the Republic period. Amasya newspaper carries the phrase "It is the Official Newspaper of the Province" under its title. This newspaper, in terms of its content, follows a line that carries the center to the periphery and ensures that official information reaches the public. On the other hand, Emel newspaper in Amasya, although it seems to have adopted the basic principles of the young Republic, displays an oppositional stance against the local power centers. This study aims to bring new data about the first newspapers published in Amasya to the literature, as well as to reveal the findings regarding the publishing policies of Amasya and Emel newspapers in Amasya.
