Purpose:Clavicle the bony connection between upper extremities and the body. It articulates with acromion of scapulae in the lateral and with sternum in the medial and displays the greatest variability between all other long bones. This study is undertaken to assess clavicular morphometry Material and Methods:In this study 66 clavicle (34 left, 32 right) of adult Anatolian people of unknown gender are used. Morphometrically; maximum length of clavicula, diameter of the mid point, superior inferior and anterior posterior thickness of the acromial edge, the distance between claviculas lateral border and mid point of linea trapezoidea, maximum length and width of impressio costaclaviculare, maximum length and width of facies sternalis and the concave angle are measured besides Robustness index (resistance index) is calculated. Results:Maximum length of clavicle was 136,19±13,41mm, diameter of the mid point, superior inferior and anterior posterior thickness of the acromial edge were 10,59±2,15 cm and 21,62±3,87mm respectively, the distance between claviculas lateral border and mid point of linea trapezoidea was 17,06±3,83mm, maximum length and width of impressio costaclaviculare were 16,51±5,11mm and 8,07±2,88 mm respectively, maximum length and width of facies sternalis were 16,58±3,22mm and 20,26±3,29 respectively, maximum length and width of facies acromialis were 9,10±2,55 mm and 14,74±3,43 mm, the concave angle was 139,43±8,25º, perimeter of middle point of clavicula was 3,57±0,46mm and the Robustness index was calculated as 26,3±0,32. Conclusion:Anatomical structure and morphometric measurements of clavicle is significant for clinicians.
