Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the teaching candidates’ opinions on educational digital game designs and the design process for mathematics teaching. The research has been used for the study of quality research patterns. Participants are a total of 30 teachers candidates who are studying in the third class of Primary Mathematics Teaching at a state university. In this study, a semi-configured interview form was used and student projects were studied. Participants are engaged in an educational digital game design process aimed at the teaching of Mathematics for 14 weeks. In the study, the quality data as well as the games that the participants prepared were analyzed. The research results, according to the opinions of teaching candidates, showed that the educational digital game design process has developed the most problem-solving skills in the academic field, has gained creativity, has developed the skills to use technology in the mathematics field; in the context of technology qualification, teaching candidates have developed at the point of obtaining the most technology qualification.
