Abstract:

With the development and spread of the Internet, the need for social networks increases. These social networks have been constantly renewing themselves in recent years and are popular with many audiences. Many people think about social media; it makes it a tool for self-expression, knowledge and time. When the social sharing sites used in daily life are examined, it is seen that they prefer to share photos in order to convey the events and situations in their lives. The most popular network among these, Instagram is used for different purposes than other social media areas. Among those using Instagram, there is a mass of mothers who reflect their lifestyles, share their experiences about motherhood and convey the correct information they adopt to their mothers. Popular mothers who actively use social media suggest creative activities based on their children's healthy nutrition, children's education games, book selection and children's developmental characteristics. In addition, they share their preferred clothes, the brands of products they use, the moments they live with their children during the day, and share them in their accounts. The aim of the research is to explain the social media usage of mothers and to identify the positive and negative aspects of mothers following their popular mothers on their children.
