Abstract:

With the study, it is aimed to evaluate the efficiency performances of participation banks, whose share and efficiency in the banking sector are increasing day by day. For this purpose, the efficiency scores of six acquisition economies, three with private capital and three with public capital, are calculated for 2019-2022 period. Efficiency measurements of three inputs (total funds, personal expense, interest expenses) and two outputs (funds used, interest income) selected for the research are made using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The body, in which the output-oriented DEA approach is handled under the estimation of constant returns to scale (CRR), shows that the average productivity values of the banks as a whole for the period of 2019-2022 are above 90%. The results of the analysis show that the efficiency scores of six participation banks in the period of 2019-2022 are as follows; four participation banks are active in 2019, six in 2020, three in 2021, and five in 2022. In general terms, it shows that all of the mentioned participation banks are active for at least two periods within four periods.
