Since the Industrial Revolution, industrial production and the welfare provided by this production have been increasing continuously. However, since the second half of the 20th century, the idea that this prosperity was built on environmental pollution started to gather supporters. In this context, the idea that economic growth can be achieved without harming the environment has revealed the green economy concept. For a cleaner, more sustainable and more recyclable production, steps have been taken and studies have begun in the international arena. Turkey has been influenced by the efforts to transition to a green order in Europe. In this sense, organized industrial zones, which are the locomotive of production in Turkey, are important. The Green Organized Industrial Zone Project started in 4 pilot regions selected in 2016. With the project, researches were carried out on energy efficiency and renewable energy in organized industrial zones. The ensuing Turkey Organized Industrial Zones Project represents a loan amounting to 300 million dollars financed by the World Bank. The project provides loans to organized industrial zones for green investments. In this study, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of the project by giving information about the Green Organized Industrial Zone Project.
