Soğutma sezonunda ise fotovoltaik modüler sistemin ihtiyacın %202,25’i, rüzgâr türbininin ise %114,45’i düzeyinde elektrik üretimi yapabileceği belirlenmiştir.
In this study, a wind turbine with approximately the same capacity (55 kW) for the building of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ege, which has a significant potential in terms of wind and solar energy in İzmir, has been compared with the photovoltaic modular system (54,4 kW) energy production and economically. In the air conditioning of the building of the Engineering Department, air conditioners are used and the wind turbine and the photovoltaic modular system that has been addressed have been studied how much these air conditioners can meet the use of electricity. The energy production of both systems is calculated with the TRNSYS software. In these calculations, the minute wind speed, wind direction, external air temperature and solar radiation data taken from the measurement station located on the roof of the building of the Engineering Department were converted into hourly data and used in analysis. As a result, it is estimated that in the heating season, the photovoltaic modular system can produce up to 88.85% of the demand, while the wind turbine can produce up to 72.15% of the electricity. In the cooling season, the photovoltaic modular system will be able to produce electricity at a level of 202.25% of the need, while the wind turbine will be able to produce electricity at a level of 114.45%. The simple repaid period of the photovoltaic modular system is 9.19 years, while the simple repaid period of the wind turbine is 14.52 years. When the achieved results were evaluated; the installation of the photovoltaic modular system for the building of the Ege University Department of Mechanical Engineering has been shown to be more preferred in terms of energy production and economically than the installation of wind turbine.
