The aim of this study is to adapt the Information Management Trend Scale (BYE-Ö) developed by Wang, Ahmed and Rafiq (2008) to the Turkish Culture. First, the linguistic equivalent of the Turkish version of the scale is provided by the opinion of a group of English experts. Afterwards, on the basis of the voluntary essence for the Correct Factor Analysis (DFA) in order to test the structural validity of the scale, data from 206 teachers across Turkey was collected at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year. According to the DFA result; the conformity values of the model tested for structural validity were found at less "acceptable" levels. It has been found that BYE-Ö substances can distinguish individuals well. The relationship between the scale whole and the subfactors has indicated that there is a positive meaningful linear relationship between the sub-state values, the scale whole and the subfactors. Cronbach's Alpha ratio was .901 for the entire scale; .845 for the subfactor of organizational memory; .712 for the subfactor of information sharing; .668 for the subfactor of information acquisition/cover and .792 for the subfactor of information sensitivity. The DFA has confirmed this structure. These subfactors are called “organic memory”, “information sharing”, “information acquisition” and “information sensitivity”. As in the original scale, the adaptation result is also available in BYE-Ö 16 items. The adjusted scale has been identified as a valid and reliable measurement tool for the Turkish culture. In particular, this scale may be useful in the point of being able to find administrative and organizational conclusions about information management in schools.
The aim of this study is to adapt the “Knowledge Man-agement Orientation Scale”, which was developed by Wang, Ahmed & Rafiq (2008), into Turkish culture. First, the linguistic equivalence of the Turkish version of the scale was achieved by consensus of a group of English experts. Later, data were collected from 206 volunteer teachers at the end of the 2017-2018 semester. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to test the construct validity. The factor structure was determined to be acceptable and Turk-ish version of the scale consisted of four sub-scales as in the English version. The results of the CFA showed that model fit indices of the scale proved mostly a very good fit and good fit. It has been determined that BYE-Ö items can dis-tinguish individuals well. The relationships between the overall of the scale and the scale factors were determined through the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The values proved that there were statistically significant and positive relationships between scale overall and factors. It proves that the scale has internal consistency. Reliability of the scale was determined through Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient which was found to be .901 for the scale overall. It was .845 for the first factor; .712 for the second factor; .668 for third factor and .792 for the fourth factor. In conclusion, the adapted scale is a valid, reliable and measurement tool for Turkish culture. In particular, this scale may be useful for administrative and organizational inferences about knowledge management in schools.
