Purpose: This study was carried out with the aim of determining the views and experiences of nursing students about violence. Method: Identifying type of research is accomplished with 110 nursing students who are studying in the 3rd class at a Faculty of Health Sciences in the 2012-2013 Education-Teaching year and who agree to participate in the study. As a data collection tool, a survey form developed by the researcher as a result of literary scans was used. The findings found that 18.4% of the girls and 17.4% of the boys were subjected to physical violence. While the girls students are more violent by their father and brother, the boys students have been exposed to violence by their colleagues and other persons. The number of girls who were exposed to emotional violence was 25.3 percent and the number of boys 21.7 percent. Sexual violence is not identified in male students, while 2.3 percent of women have been exposed to harassment. The result is that young people see more violence than individuals in the family, and in this age group, friendship violence is added to domestic violence. It is believed that studies are needed to increase the awareness of violence prevention, and to enable them to learn about legal rights and processes. Keywords: violence, nursing, college student.
