Abstract:

The social information course is included in the teaching programs of the Mikhver class group. In this study, he aimed at evaluating the advantages of the geopolitical position of Turkey, the economic and political relations with the region and world states, including its neighbors, regional and global events, and social information teachers. In this context, the educational system of education is 6. In order to determine the teachers' views on the teaching of the political geography, international relations, foreign trade, import-export and geopolitical concepts undertaken in the unit "Our International Relations" included in the classroom program, 3 working in different types of schools, 7 women, 7 men and 10 teachers have been conducted conversations according to the essence of volunteering. The research method is used as a method of quality research methods of the fact science (fenomonology) design. In the study, the data obtained and obtained using the semi-configured view form, the data wasined for content analysis. According to the results obtained in the study, teachers have found that they think that Turkey’s special position and geopolitical power in foreign trade cannot be used adequately. It is understood that the foreign trade with border neighbors has not been seen at a sufficient level, the most important factor in the outcome of this conclusion is the view that the wars and political confusions in the region, with the influence of the great powers in the 20th century, negatively affected the trade of Turkey. Teachers have expressed that the topics and achievements of social information courses in the curriculum are not sufficient, the new generations should be given more information about current topics and political events in the region. In addition, they have expressed the proposal that more emphasis could be given to the political geography content within the geography subjects included in the social information program, if necessary, a selective course on this subject could be prepared.
