Abstract:

In general, the European paradigm states that the history of thought and civilization is unique to the West as an event that begins with ancient Greece and passes through the Middle Ages to the modern era. This approach leads in particular to the fact that scientific history begins in Ancient Greece and is considered as a process that only the Westerners contribute. As a result, the contribution of other pre-Greek civilizations to the scientific history of the Islamic civilization in the Middle Ages was ignored and counted out. In this context, Fuat Sezgin’s work and the theses he has presented will substantially change the presumptions of the judge’s understanding of the scientific history and the historical course of scientific activities. Instead of the judgment approach to the scientific history, Fuat Sezgin shows a more objective approach that considers the scientific activities belonging only to a civilization pool, which considers this activity as a common heritage of all mankind, and which gives the contribution of all civilization pools.
