Otellerin Çevrimiçi Rezervasyon Motoru Kullanımı ve Yorum Siteleri Entegrasyonu Üzerine Nitel Bir Araştırma: Hatay Otelleri Örneği

Otellerin yeni teknolojilere hızlı uyum sağlaması, faaliyetlerinde başarılı olmalarını sağlamaktadır. Bu araştırmada, gelişen teknolojilerden yararlanmak isteyen konaklama işletmelerinin potansiyel misafirlerine doğrudan ulaşmada, kurumsal web sitesi hizmetleri çerçevesinde satış pazarlama faaliyetlerinde oda satışlarında online rezervasyon motoru yazılımlarının otellere ne tür faydaları olduğunun tespit edilebilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Hatay ilinde faaliyet gösteren konaklama işletmelerinin web siteleri incelenmiştir. İlgili otellerden kendi web sitesinde online rezervasyon motoruna sahip olduğu belirlenen toplam 10 otel işletmesi ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler MAXQDA 2018 veri analiz programında incelenerek online rezervasyon motoru yönetimi teması altında kategoriler ve kodlar oluşturulmuştur. Verilerden ortaya çıkan kodların önem derecesi sırasıyla “Fiyat Eşitliği, Otel/Misafir Kullanım Memnuniyeti, İndirim ve Promosyonlar, Web Sitesiyle Uyum, Servis Destek Çözümleri, Rezervasyon Başına Komisyon, İhtiyaç, Sosyal Medya, Reklam ve Tanıtımlar, Mobil Uyumluluk, Poliçeler, Raporlama, Rezervasyon Tahsilatları Otel Tarafından, Fiyat Eşitliği” şeklinde belirlenmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler ve görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler ışığında online rezervasyon motoru kullanımının otellerin doğrudan oda satışlarına etkisinin çeşitli faydaları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Fakat online rezervasyon motorundan etkin fayda sağlayabilmenin doğru entegrasyonlara, online itibar yönetimine ve rezervasyon stratejilerine önemli derecede bağlı olduğu belirlenerek otellere öneriler geliştirilmiştir. Bu öneriler araştırmanın sonuç ve öneriler bölümünde belirtilmektedir.

Abstract:

The rapid adaptation of hotels to new technologies ensures them to be successful in their activities. This study aims to identify the benefits of online booking engine software in sales of rooms in the framework of corporate website services, in direct contact with potential guests of accommodation seeking to take advantage of developing technologies. In this regard, the websites of the housing companies that operate in the Hatay province have been examined. There have been semi-configured conversations with a total of 10 hotel companies that have the online booking engine on their website. The obtained data was studied in the MAXQDA 2018 data analysis program and the categories and codes under the online booking engine management theme were created. The importance of the codes arising from the data is determined accordingly in the form of "Price Equality, Hotel/Guest Use Satisfaction, Discount and Promotions, Compliance with the Website, Service Support Solutions, Reservation Commission, Need, Social Media, Advertising and Advertising, Mobile Compliance, Policy, Reporting, Reservation Submissions by Hotel, Price Equality". In light of the data obtained from the reviews and interviews, the use of the online booking engine has been found to have a variety of benefits of the impact of hotels on direct sales of rooms. However, recommendations for hotels have been developed by determining that the ability to benefit effectively from the online booking engine is significantly dependent on proper integrations, online reputation management and booking strategies. These recommendations are listed in the research results and recommendations section.

In this research, it is aimed to determine the benefits of online booking engine software for hotels in the sales and marketing activities within the framework of corporate website services, in order to reach the potential guests of the accommodation companies that want to benefit from the developing technologies. In this respect, the web sites of the accommodation establishments operating in Hatay were examined. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a total of 10 hotel establishments, which were determined to have online booking engine from the related hotels on their website. The data obtained were examined in MAXQDA 2018 data analysis program and categories and codes were created under the theme of online booking engine management. The importance of the codes arising from the data is respectively “Rate Parity, Hotel / Guest Use Satisfaction, Discounts and Promotions, Compliance with the Website, Commission Per Reservation, Needs, Social Media, Advertising and Promotions, Policies, Reservation Payments by the Hotel”. It was determined that the effect of using the online booking engine on the direct room sales of the hotels has various benefits with the analysis of the data obtained from the reviews and interviews. However, it has been determined that being able to benefit from the online reservation engine effectively depends on correct integrations, online reputation management and reservation strategies, and suggestions have been developed for hotels. These suggestions are stated in the results and suggestions section of the research.
