Türkiye’de katılım bankacılığı sektöründe kredi riskinin gerek yurtiçi gerekse yurtdışı faktörlere bağlı olarak değişmesi katılım bankalarının işlevselliğini tehdit etmektedir. Bankacılık sektöründe yapılan araştırmalarda kredi riskinin bir göstergesi olarak takipteki krediler kabul edilmiştir. Takipteki krediler, banka bilançolarını ve bankaların karlılığını etkileyen önemli unsurlardan biridir. Bu değişkeni etkileyen faktörlerin analiz edilmesi bankacılık sektörü için yol gösterici niteliktedir. Katılım bankacılığı sektöründe de risk göstergesi olarak kabul edilen takipteki kredilerin artışına neden olan yurt içi ve yurtdışı makroekonomik faktörlerin belirlenmesi bu bankaların istikrarı için önemli hala gelmektedir. Türkiye’de katılım bankacılığının yurt içindeki payı hedeflenen düzeyin oldukça altında olması sistemin makroekonomik değişkenlerle olan ilişkisini sorgulatmaktadır. Bu çerçevede, çalışmamız belirlenen değişkenler yardımıyla katılım bankalarının makro değişenlerle ilişkisini analiz etmektedir.
The change in credit risk in the participation banking sector in Turkey depending on domestic or foreign factors threatens the functionality of participation banks. Research in the banking sector has seen the following loans as an indicator of credit risk. Followed loans are one of the important elements that influence bank balance sheets and the profitability of banks. The analysis of the factors affecting this variation is a guide for the banking sector. Identification of domestic and foreign macroeconomic factors that lead to the increase in the subsequent loans, which are also considered as a risk indicator in the participating banking sector, remains important for the stability of these banks. In Turkey, participating banking’s domestic share is far below the targeted level, questioning the relationship of the system with macroeconomic variables. In this framework, our study analyses the relationship of participating banks with macro variables with the help of determined variables.
Credit risk in the banking sector may be caused by both banks balance sheet balances and their relationship with macroeconomic variables. In the research conducted in the banking sector, non-performing loans are generally accepted as an indicator of credit risk. Non-performing loans are one of the important factors affecting bank balance sheets and profitability of banks. Analyzing the factors affecting this variable is a guide for the banking sector. Identifying the macroeconomic factors that cause the increase in non-performing loans, which are accepted as a risk indicator in the Islamic banking sector, becomes important for the stability of these banks. The share of the domestic banking in Turkey has made important contributions to investigate the safety of the system rather that loans under the target level. In this framework, our study analyzes the relationship between the credit risk of Islamic banks and macroeconomic changes.
