Sosyal bilimlerin hemen her alanında olduğu gibi İslâmî İlimlerde ve hadis tenkidinde ilk aranan özellik, tenkidin objektif olması gerektiğidir. Ancak belli oranda bir öznellikten kurtulmak mümkün olamamaktadır. Hadis tenkidinin gerek râvi değerlendirmesi anlamına gelen sened tenkidi gerekse hadis metninin içeriğinin diğer veriler ışığında değerlendirilmesi münekkidin bakışına göre farklılık gösterir. Bu çalışmada sıhhat değeri bakımından çokça tartışılmış olan bir rivayet üzerinden sened tenkidinin ictihâdîliğinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Söz konusu rivayet, Hz. Ali’nin ikindi namazını vaktinde kılamaması sonrasında Hz. Peygamber'in dua etmesi ve ardından güneşin döndürülmesini anlatır. Rivayet bazı âlimlerce uydurma olarak değerlendirilirken bazılarınca büyük bir mucize olarak görülmektedir. Otoritelerin râviler hakkındaki tespitleri tavsîfî bir metodla taranmış, elde edilen veriler analiz ve tümevarım yöntemiyle işlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda ilk dönemde farklı hükümler veren rical âlimlerinin sözlerinin sonraki dönemlerde, nakledilen metnin içeriğine bağlı olarak tercih konusu yapıldığı görülmüştür. Bu yolla müteahhir dönem münekkidi, kendi görüşünü destekleyen hükümleri kullanarak hadisin sıhhati ile ilgili muhtelif sonuçlara ulaşabilmiştir.
As in almost every field of social sciences, the first requirement in Islamic sciences and hadith criticism is that the criticism should be objective. In hadith criticism, both sanad (chain of narrators) criticism, which means the evaluation of the narrator, and the evaluation of the content of the hadith text differ according to the perspective of the critic (munaqqid). This study aims to reveal the subjectivity of sanad criticism through a narration whose authenticity (sihha) has been widely debated. The narration in question tells the story of the Prophet’s supplication after Ali failed to perform the Asr prayer on time and the sun was then reversed. While some hadith scholars considered this narration a miracle, others considered it a mawdu’. The determinations of the authorities on the narrators were reviewed with a descriptive method, and the data obtained were processed by analysis and induction. As a result of the study, it was seen that the reason why the early scholars reached different conclusions was the different information they obtained about the narrator. However, later scholars were influenced by the content of the text that they were criticizing and preferred the rulings of predecessors that were suited their own approach and reached different conclusions about the authenticity of the hadith.
