Okul Öncesi Öğretmenlerinin STEM Farkındalıklarının Bazı Demografik Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmada okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin STEM’e yönelik farkındalıklarının belirlenmesi ve farkındalık düzeylerinin çeşitli demografik değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada ilişkisel tarama deseni esas alınmıştır. Örneklemini 105 okul öncesi öğretmenin oluşturduğu çalışmanın verileri Buyruk ve Korkmaz (2016) tarafından geliştirilen beşli Likert tipinde 17 maddeden oluşan FeTeMM Farkındalık Ölçeği ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler ve MANOVA testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcıların STEM farkındalık düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin STEM farkındalık düzeylerinin; cinsiyet, mezun olunan fakülte türü, eğitim düzeyi ve mesleki kıdemlerine göre anlamlı olarak farklılaşmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan daha önce STEM eğitimi alan öğretmenlerin farkındalık düzeylerinin eğitim almayanlara kıyasla anlamlı olarak daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Investigation Of Stem Awareness Of Preschool Teachers In Terms Of Some Demographic Variables

Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to determine the awareness levels of preschool teachers towards STEM and to examine their awareness levels in terms of various demographic variables. The study was based on the correlational survey design. The sample of the study consisted of 105 preschool teachers. The data were obtained with the STEM Awareness Scale consisting of 17 items in the 5-point Likert type developed by Buyruk and Korkmaz (2016). Descriptive statistics and MANOVA test were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the study, it was determined that the STEM awareness levels of the participants were high. In addition, it was determined that teachers' STEM awareness levels did not differ significantly according to gender, type of faculty graduated, education level, and professional seniority. On the other hand, it was determined that the awareness levels of the teachers who received STEM education before were significantly higher than those who did not receive education.
