Amaç: Ekonomik değeri açısından ülkemiz için önemli bir meyve türü olan cevizin (Juglans regia L.), insan sağlığı üzerine etkili birçok önemli besin öğesini içermesinden dolayı günümüzde önemi giderek artmaktadır. Yapılan bilimsel çalışmalar, cevizin insan vücudunu pozitif olarak etkileyen besin içeriklerine sahip olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Çalışmada, ülkemizde ceviz üretiminde yer alan farklı yerli ve yabancı ceviz çeşitlerinin besinsel kalite öğelerinden olan mineral madde içeriklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntemler ve Bulgular: Araştırma materyali olarak, İç Ege Bölgesinde yer alan Uşak ilinde 9 yabancı ve 10 yerli ceviz çeşit ve genotipine ait iç ceviz meyveleri kullanılmıştır. Meyvelerin azot içeriği “Kjheltec” yöntemine göre belirlenirken, makro ve mikro elementler kuru yakma yöntemi uygulandıktan sonra spektrometrik yöntem temel alınarak ICP cihazında tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, yerli ve yabancı çeşitlerin azot içerikleri birbirine yakın olurken, diğer makro ve mikro element içerikleri bakımından yerli çeşitlerin daha zengin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Genel Yorum: Elde edilen veriler literatürle karşılaştırıldığında, özellikle Türk ceviz çeşitlerinde meyvelerin besin element içeriklerinin önemli düzeyde olduğu söylenebilir. Çalışmanın Önemi ve Etkisi: Ülkemiz tohumdan çıkma ceviz populasyonu açısından zengin olması nedeniyle, mineral madde içeriğini tespit çalışmaları daha çok genotipler bazında yapılmıştır. Ancak ülkemizde, yetiştirilen ve yetiştirilmeye başlanan çeşitli yerli ve yabancı ceviz çeşitlerinin mineral madde içerikleri potansiyellerinin ortaya çıkarılması konusunda çok az çalışma bulunmaktadır. Farklı çeşitlerin mineral madde içeriği ile ilgili bulgular, ülkemizde ceviz konusundaki bilgi birikimine katkı sağlaması açısından son derece önemli olacaktır.
Goal: Cognac (Juglans regia L.), which is an important type of fruit for our country in terms of economic value, is increasingly important today because it contains many important nutrients that are effective on human health. Scientific studies have found that coconut has nutrients that have a positive impact on the human body. The study aimed at determining the mineral content of the nutrient quality elements of the different domestic and foreign varieties of coconut that are involved in our country’s coconut production. Methods and findings: As a research material, 9 foreign and 10 indigenous corn varieties and genotype-owned indigenous corn fruits were used in the Ushak province located in the Inner Egean region. The nitrogen content of the fruit is determined according to the "Kjheltec" method, while the macro and micro elements are detected in the ICP device on the basis of the spectrometric method after the dry burning method is applied. Aims: Walnut (Juglans regia L.) is an important fruit species for Turkey in terms of economic value. Due to its positive effects on nutrient content and human health, its importance is increasing nowadays. The scientific studies have been revealing that it has rich nutrient content to positively affecting human body. In this study, it was planned to determine the changes of mineral composition, which in nutrition quality elements, in local and foreign walnut cultivars that cultivated in Turkey. Methods and Results: In the experiment, it was used the kernels of 9 foreign walnut cultivars and 10 local walnut cultivars and genotypes in Uşak (inner Aegean region/Turkey) ecological condition. The nitrogen content of the walnut kernels was determined according to “Kjheltec” method. Also, the macro and micro elements were determined by means of ICP-OES (Varian Series II) based on the spectrometric method after the dry-ashed method was applied. According to the findings in the study, in terms of macro and micro mineral level, except for N, the local walnut cultivars have the higher concentrations than foreign cultivars. Conclusions: Comparing obtained data with the ones existing in the literature, especially Turkish walnut cultivars proved to be important sources of nutritive elements. Significance and Impact of the Study: The studies of the mineral content determination were carried out on the walnut genotypes due to walnut trees were grown widely from seeds in Turkey. However, there are very few studies on the mineral content of local and foreign walnut cultivars that cultivated in Turkey. The results of the study will be extremely important in terms of contributing to the knowledge of walnut cultivation in Turkey.
