Abstract:

The objective of this study is to analyze in a diverse and comprehensive way the work containing the theses and articles on school effectiveness in Turkey between 2010 and 2020. The universe of the study conducted using the visual content analysis method and the categorical analysis technique from the content analysis types forms studies related to the school effectiveness that are categorized in the YÖK National Thesis Center, TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM Social and Human Sciences Database, Google Academic, Journal Park, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, ERIC and Scopus databases. The sample of the study is made up of a total of 86 studies in Turkey between 2010 and 2020 (55 thesis-31 articles) that are open to access. The data was collected through the examination form of the studies carried out on school effectiveness prepared by the researchers. The obtained data was transferred to the Excel program and analysed using summary tables (pivot tables). Data is visualized using statistical techniques such as frequency and percentage for obtained categories. When research on school effectiveness is studied; the sampling areas are concentrated in the western Anadolu, north-eastern Anadolu and south-eastern Anadolu regions, the method of relative scan is highly selected, the simple non-selective and intended sampling methods are mostly determined, the method of analysis is the visual statistics, the ANOVA and the T-test are often used. Based on the results of this study, the differentiation of the research methodologies of the future studies on school effectiveness, the inclusion of students and their families as an analysis unit, and the diversification and differentiation of the analytical methods can be expressed as the priority of the research.
