Abstract:

Environmental pollutants, in addition to causing damage to land and water ecosystems, also lead to many health problems. Pesticides are known as pollutants that have a biological effect on untouched organisms they encounter in different phases of the environment, which are spread to the environment with continuous use. It is also believed that pesticides are associated with cardiovascular diseases. The importance of laboratory studies in the investigation of the potential effects these chemicals may have on the heart is great. Zebra fish (Danio rerio) is considered a model organism that provides numerous facilities for researchers in the embryonic or adolescent period in cardiotoxicity studies. In the research of the toxic effects of pesticides on the heart and the mechanisms of action, zebra fish has been frequently used in recent years. In this collection, in the assessment of heart anomalies arising from pesticide exposure, it was pointed out with details why in recent years zebra fish was considered a model system.
