The study was conducted to study the nutrition of 0-24 months old babies. The study, planned in the identificative type, was carried out by applying the question form (s=164) with the mothers who agreed to participate in the study of children who are in a state hospital’s dairy child service. In the evaluation of the data identifiable analyses and ki-core test analyses were made. The average age of mothers is 26.82±5.47 (17-47 years) years and 48.2% of them are primary school graduates. 85.4 percent of babies received breast milk within the first 1 hour after birth, 45.7 percent was fed with breast, 62.2 percent was bottled and 35.4 percent was breastfeed. In the first six months, 29.5% of babies were fed only with breast milk, while 29.9% were given cow milk before the age of one. 53.7% of babies were diagnosed with respiratory infection and 39% were hospitalized due to gastroenteritis. The study found that there was a statistically meaningful relationship between the mother's form of birth and the time of breastfeeding (p<0,00); between the baby's age and the use of the bottle (p<0,01) and the breastfeeding (p<0,02); between the use of the bottle and the time of starting the supplementary food (p<0,01). Although the breastfeeding rate was high in the first hour after the birth, the first 6 months of breastfeeding only had a low rate of nutrition, but the habits of drinking bottles were common. These results show that mothers need more education and support about the importance of breast milk and breastfeeding.
