Ortaokullarda Okul Zorbalığını Önleme Politikaları: Okul Yöneticilerinin Görüşlerine Dayalı Bir İnceleme

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı İstanbul ili Arnavutköy ilçesinde görev yapan ortaokul yöneticilerinin görüşlerine göre okullardaki zorbalık davranışlarının nedenlerini, zorbalık davranış türlerini ve zorbalığı önlemeye yönelik politikaları belirlemektir. Çalışma, nitel verilere dayalı olgubilim çalışmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 15 ortaokul yöneticisi (6 Kadın-9 Erkek) oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda yöneticilerin, zorbalığın önlenmesine yönelik bilgilendirme ve eğitim çalışmalarını önemli buldukları belirlenmiştir. Yönetici görüşlerine göre bu tür davranışları önleme ve müdahale çalışmalarında okul rehberlik servisinin ve öğrenci davranışlarını değerlendirme kurulunun etkili şekilde çalıştırılması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan ortaokul yöneticileri, zorbalığın en önemli nedenlerinin öğrencilerin aile içi yaşantıları, okulda popüler olma ve kendini kanıtlama isteği olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan okul yöneticileri, akran zorbalığına müdahale ederken zorbalığa katılan öğrencilerle görüşme, velilerini bilgilendirme, okul rehberlik servisine yönlendirme ve öğrenciyi öğrenci davranış değerlendirme kuruluna sevk etme yöntemlerini kullandıklarını belirtmişlerdir.

Politics to Prevent School Abuse in High Schools: A Review Based on Opinions of School Managers

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the causes of harassment behavior in schools, the types of harassment behavior and the policies aimed at preventing harassment, according to the opinions of high school managers in the province of Istanbul or the province of Albania. The work is based on quality data. The study group consists of 15 high school managers (6 women – 9 men). In the study, a semi-configured conversation form was applied as a data collection tool. Imaginary analysis approach is used in the analysis of data. The study found that managers found important information and training work to prevent harassment. According to the management’s opinions, in the prevention and intervention of such behaviors, the school guidance service and the student behavior assessment board should be effectively operated. The high school managers who participated in the study found that the main causes of harassment are the students’ family life, the desire to be popular in the school, and the desire to prove themselves. The school managers who participated in the study stated that they used the methods to talk with the students who participated in the harassment while interfering with fellow harassment, inform their guardians, direct the school guidance service and send the student to the student behavior assessment board.

The aim of this study is to determine the causes of bullying behaviors in schools, the types of bullying behavior and the policies to prevent bullying according to the opinions of secondary school managers working in Arnavutköy district of Istanbul.The study group of the research consists of 15 secondary school managers (6 Female - 9 Male). A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the study. Descriptive analysis approach was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the study, it was revealed that information and education for the prevention of bullying are important. It has been concluded that the student guidance service and the student behavior evaluation board follow a common policy and are an effective policy in the prevention and intervention studies of such behaviors. It was determined that the most important causes of bullying by the secondary school managers who participated in the research were the family life of the students and their concerns about being popular at school and proving themselves. The school managers who participated in the research stated that they used the methods of talking to the students participating in the bullying, informing their parents, directing them to the school guidance service, and referring the bullied student to the student behavior evaluation board while intervening in the peer bullying.
