Abstract:

In this study, we have been trying to determine the impact of creative reading on the success of reading and reading attitude. The sample of the study designed according to the semi-experimental design of the pre-test-final test control group is made by the two fourth classes that study in a primary school connected to the Denizli Pamukkale district in the 2017-2018 educational year. The experimental and control groups consist of 19 students. The study used the scales of "read-to-read attitude" and "read success" developed by the researcher in the data collection. The findings resulting from 14 weeks of practice can be summarized as follows: in the Turkish classes (experimental group) structured by creative reading, students’ attitudes towards reading and reading successes have increased, while the reading success of the control group has increased without meaning, and in reading attitudes have significantly decreased. As a result, research has found that creative reading practices have a positive impact on students’ reading achievements and their attitudes towards reading.
