Bu çalışmanın amacı finansal açıdan işletmelerin başarılı ve başarısız olma durumları üzerinde etkili olan faktörlerin belirlenmesidir. Çalışmada BİST 100 endeksinde yer alan 48 adet işletmenin 2001-2019 dönemine ait finansal verilerinden faydalanılmıştır. Çalışma verileri lojistik regresyon analizi ile sınanmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmada bir ve iki yıl gecikmeli Altman Z skorlarının etkilerine yönelik panel veri analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda işletme başarısını arttıran değişkenlerin cari oran, aktif devir hızı, duran varlık devir hızı ve faiz ve vergi öncesi kâr/aktif toplam oranı olduğu belirlenmiştir. İşletme başarısını azaltan değişkenlerin ise toplam kaldıraç oranı, nakit dönüşüm süresi ve öz sermaye kârlılığının olduğu saptanmıştır. Panel veri analizi sonucunda çalışmada kullanılan değişkenlerin bir yıl gecikmeli Altman Z skorunun yaklaşık %20 oranında, iki yıl gecikmeli Altman Z skorunun ise yaklaşık %19 oranında açıkladığı görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is to identify the factors that financially influence the situations of business success and failure. The study took advantage of the financial data from the period 2001-2019 of 48 companies included in the BIST 100 index. The study data is tested by logistical regression analysis. The study also used the panel data analysis method for the effects of one and two years delayed Altman Z scores. The results of the analysis have determined that the variables that increase the business success are the currency rate, the active turnover rate, the constant asset turnover rate and the interest rate and the pre-tax profit/active total rate. The variables that decrease business success are the total lift rate, the time of cash conversion and the profitability of the capital itself. Panel data analysis revealed that the variables used in the study accounted for approximately 20% of the one-year delayed Altman Z score and approximately 19% of the two-year delayed Altman Z score.
The aim of this study is to determine the factors that affect the success and failure of firms financially. In the study, the financial data of 48 enterprises included in the BIST 100 index for the period 2001-2019 were used. Study data were tested with logistic regression analysis. In addition, panel data analysis method was used for the effects of one- and two-year delayed Altman Z scores in the study. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the variables that increase the success of the firm are the current ratio, asset turnover, fixed asset turnover and profit before interest and tax / total assets ratio. It has been determined that the variables that reduce firm success are total leverage ratio, cash conversion cycle and return on equity. As a result of the panel data analysis, it was found that the variables used in the study explained about 20% of the Altman Z score with a one-year delay and about 19% of the Altman Z score with a two-year delay.
