Oryantalistlerin İslâmiyat çalışmaları oldukça büyük bir birikim teşkil etmektedir. Bir kısmına vâkıf olduğumuz bu birikim içinde Kur’ân ve tefsirle ilgili olanlar önemli bir yere sahiptir. Sözü edilen çalışmaların doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak Müslümanların aynı alandaki faaliyetlerine etkisinin olduğu bir gerçektir. Oryantalist çabaların bizim tefsir çalışmalarına tesirine daha fazla dikkat çekilmesi hedeflenen bu makalede, önce oryantalistlerin çalışma ve iddialarından etkilenmenin nedenleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Taklit ve özenti yanında üniversitenin, tercümelerin, zihnen devşirilmiş aydınların, Hindistan ve Mısır’daki sömürge dönemlerinin bu tesirde önemli rolü bulunduğu ifade edilmiştir. Daha sonra, ilk defa oryantalistlerce Kur’ân veya Kitâb-ı Mukaddes araştırmalarında kullanılmış yöntemlerin, ileri sürülmüş tezlerin tefsir çalışmalarına etkisi somut örneklerle anlatılmıştır. Bu örnekler, literatür taraması ve eşleştirme yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Çağdaş tefsir tarihi yazıcılığı, nüzûl sırasına göre meâl ve tefsir yazımı, Kur’ân’a tarihselci yöneliş, tefsirde semantik ve hermenötikten faydalanma, Kur’âncılık akımı söz konusu etkilenmenin en bariz olanlarıdır. Bahsedilen örnekler, Kur’ân’a yaklaşımlarda, tefsir eserlerinde, Kur’ân tarihi, tefsir tarihi ve bazı Kur’ân ilimleri çalışmalarında oryantalist etkiyi açıkça göstermektedir.
The orientalists’ Islamic studies constitute a very large accumulation. Within this accumulation, the ones related to the Qur’ān and tafsīr have an important place. It is a fact that the mentioned studies have a direct or indirect effect on the activities of Muslims in the same field. In this article, which aims to draw more attention to the influence of orientalist efforts on our interpretation studies, firstly the reasons for being influenced by the works and claims of orientalists are discussed. Beside imitation and pretense, the university, translations, intellectually recruited intellectuals, and colonial periods in India and Egypt have an important role in this effect. Then, the effects of the methods first used in the Qur’ān or Bible research by orientalists and the theses put forward on the tafsīr studies are explained with concrete examples. These examples have been obtained from literature review, comparison, and matching. Contemporary tafsīr historiography, translation and tafsīr writing according to the order of their revelation, historicist orientation to the Qur’ān, utilizing semantics and hermeneutics in tafsīr, and the Qur’ānic movement are the most obvious ones of this influence. The examples mentioned clearly show the orientalist influence on the approaches to the Qur’ān, the works of tafsīr, and the studies on the history of the Qur’ān, the history of tafsīr, and some Qur’ānic sciences.
