Background: Patients with stroke face problems that may physiologically, psychologically and socially affect their entire life and the need for care increases. Roy Adaptation Model is a model which is used commonly in nursing and it is a convenient model for patients with stroke. Objectives: The purpose of the study was to assess the knowledge of nursing care according to the Roy Adaptation Model of a right hemiplegiac patient diagnosed with stroke. Methods: The interview for the collection of data was done with MM at the age of 58 in a university hospital. Patient’s data were collected in accordance with four adaptation aspects of Roy Adaptation Model in line of North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Nursing diagnoses. Results: After examining the findings, following diagnoses were made: (In physiological aspect) risk of infection and risk of bleeding; (In selfconception/self-perception area) discomfort and anxiety regarding own body image; (In role function aspect) risk of loneliness: (In mutual commitment aspect) Readiness for empowering in domestic and parenting processes. It was observed that nursing care given to MM has increased adaptation both for her and her family. Conclusion: In this article; Roy Adaptation Model and use of this model is explained with a right hemiplegiac patient diagnosed with stroke case, an example related using model in nursing care is displayed
