Abstract:

Tourism is a sector with a multinational structure in terms of service providers and services. The communication skills of the service providers should be very good, especially in terms of the provision of a successful service. Intercultural sensitivity plays an important role in helping people from different cultures communicate well in the environment where they are. Therefore, in the tourism sector, it is very important to identify and develop the levels of inter-cultural sensitivity for students studying in the tourism faculty to be successful. This study examined the intercultural sensitivities of 530 students who studied in the tourism faculty in Fishesir and Çanakkale. The scale of intercultural sensitivity has emerged in four dimensions: "respect of cultural differences", "self-confidence in interaction", "like interaction" and "responsibility of interaction". The highest degree of student participation was “respect for cultural differences” while the lowest degree of participation was “self-confidence in interaction”.
