Türkiye’nin çok partili siyasal hayatının temel aktörlerinden biri olan merkez sağ siyaset, ilk defa 1990’larda birbirine denk güçte iki siyasal partiye ayrılmıştır. 1990’larda merkez sağ siyaseti Anavatan Partisi (ANAP) ve Doğru Yol Partisi (DYP) arasındaki ayrım kadar etkileyen bir diğer süreç de, merkez sağ siyasi partilerin bu zaman diliminde yapılan bütün seçimlerde düzenli bir oy kaybı yaşaması ve 2002 Genel Seçimleriyle beraber Türkiye’nin parlamenter siyasetinin dışında kalmasıdır. Bu makale, Türkiye’de merkez sağ siyasetin 1990’larda yaşadığı dönüşümü iki ana eğilim ekseninde analiz edecektir: bölünme ve küçülme. Bu bağlamda ANAP ve DYP arasındaki bölünme, merkez sağın neoliberal ekonomi politikalarına verdiği farklı yanıtlar ekseninde değerlendirilecektir. Merkez sağ siyasi partilerin 1990’lar boyunca seçmen desteğini yitirmesiyse, ANAP ve DYP’nin, küreselleşme, neoliberalizm ve kimlik siyasetlerinin yükselişiyle yaşanan toplumsal dönüşüm süreçlerine, ekonomik ve siyasi krizlere karşılık verebilecek siyasetler üretememesi bağlamında tartışmaya açılacaktır.
The central right-wing politics, one of the main actors of the multi-party political life of Turkey, was first divided into two political parties in the 1990s. Another process in the 1990s that influenced the difference between the Central Right Party (ANAP) and the Right Road Party (DYP) is that the central right political parties experienced a regular loss of votes in all the elections held in this time period and that with the 2002 General Elections, Turkey remained out of the parliamentary policy. This article will analyze the transformation of central right-wing politics in Turkey in the 1990s in two main trend axes: division and minimization. In this context, the division between the ANAP and the DYP will be assessed in the axis of the different responses of the central right to the neoliberal economic policies. If the central right-wing political parties have lost their voter support over the 1990s, ANAP and DYP will be open to debate in the context of the failure to produce policies that can respond to the processes of social transformation, economic and political crises, which are experienced by the rise of globalization, neoliberalism and identity policies.
