2013 yılında “Azerbaycan’ın Folklor Başkenti” adını kazanan Zagatala yöresi bu alanda dikkat çekmektedir. Çeşitli yıllarda bölgede halk bilimi ile ilgili saha araştırmaları, incelemeler ve akademik çalışmalar yapılmış; konferans, sempozyum ve kongreler düzenlenmiştir. Bu akademik çalışmalar içinde şimdiye kadar hazırlanmış en kapsamlı eser Zümrüd Mensimova’nın Zagatala Folklor Örnekleri isimli kitabıdır. Bu kitap sekiz yılı aşkın bir sürede hazırlanmış Azerbaycan’ın halk bilimine önemli bir katkı sunmuştur. Zagatala bölgesi Azerbaycan’ın bölgeleri içinde çok önemli yere sahip bir bölgedir. 2013 yılında Azerbaycan’ın Folklor Başkenti seçilen Zagatala ile ilgili en kapsamlı çalışma olan bu kitap ve kitap hakkındaki değerlendirmelerimiz ülkenin folklorik yapısının daha da gelişmesine ve bölgede yapılacak alan derlemelerin, saha çalışmalarının artmasına, kongrelerin, konferansların ve sempozyumların düzenlenerek Azerbaycan’ın halk biliminin gelişmesine, Türkiye ile olan ortak ritüellerin, geleneklerin, uygulamaların tespit edilerek bununla ilgili biyografi, makale, tez ve diğer ilmi çalışmaların yapılmasına katkı sağlayacaktır.

Our assessments of this book and book, the most comprehensive study on Zagatala, which was chosen as the Folklore Capital of Azerbaijan in 2013, will contribute to the further development of the country’s folklore structure and the increase of the field compilations, field work in the region, the development of the people’s science of Azerbaijan by organizing congresses, conferences and symposiums, the identification of the common rituals, traditions, practices with Turkey, and the conduct of related biography, articles, theses and other scientific studies.
