İnsan Hakları Evrensel Bildirgesi’nin 1948 ağırlıklı dayanak alındığı bu kitabın temel amacı, kütüphane ve bilgi çalışmaları alanlarında insan hakları ve toplumsal sorumluluklar konusunda farkındalık geliştirmek, bu alanlarda çalışan kişi ve kurumları daha aktif ve katılımcı bir konumda uygulamalara teşvik etmektir.
