İlk yardım, öğrencilerin zamanlarının büyük bir kısmını geçirmiş oldukları okul ortamlarında meydana gelebilecek kazaların önlenmesi ya da doğru müdahalenin uygulanabilmesi açısından hayati bir noktadır. Bu bağlamda en büyük sorumluluk öğretmenlere düşmektir. Tüm öğretmenler, okul ortamlarında meydana gelebilecek ani kazalara karşı müdahale edebilecek derecede ilk yardım bilgisine sahip olmalıdır. Özellikle de bu gereklilik, fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin laboratuvar ortamlarını kullanması ve deney yapması açısından daha fazla ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, geleceğin öğretmenleri olan fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının ilk yardım eğitimi hakkındaki görüşlerinin belirlenmesi, çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaçtan yola çıkılarak çalışma grubunu, 2017-2018 öğretim yılında İstanbul’da bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören toplam 12 fen bilimleri öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Örneklemin belirlenmesinde kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesine başvurulmuştur. Araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılım sağlayan öğretmen adayları ile odak grup görüşmeleri yapılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen verilerin analizinde nitel araştırma tekniklerinden içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler yorumlanarak, araştırma sonuçlarına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının, ilk yardım kavramını nasıl tanımladıklarını belirlemeye yönelik yapılan odak grup görüşmesinden elde edilen verilere göre, "trafik kazaları durumunda acil müdahale" olarak tanımlayanların, katılımcıların tamamını oluşturduğu görülürken, fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının ilk yardım eğitiminin önemine dair görüşlerinin belirlenmesine yönelik olarak yapılan odak grup görüşmesinde ise "doğru ve bilinçli müdahalenin yapılabilmesi için önemli" olduğu fikri tüm katılımcılar tarafından vurgulanmıştır. Lisans programlarında ilk yardım eğitiminin verilmesine yönelik fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerini belirlemeye yönelik yapılan odak grup görüşmesinde ise bu eğitimlerin "fen bilimleri eğitiminde zorunlu olarak verilmesi" fikri ağırlıklı olarak vurgulanmıştır. Yine katılımcı öğretmen adaylarına sorulan ilk yardım eğitiminde özellikle bilinmesinin gerekli olduğunu düşündükleri konuları belirlemeye ilişkin uygulanan odak grup görüşmesinde ise özellikle "temel yaşam desteği" ve "afet durumlarında ilk yardım" konularının en önde gelen konular olarak algılandığı tespit edilmiştir. Beşinci ve son odak grup görüşmesine göre ise, fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının ilk yardım eğitiminin hangi teknik ya da teknikler ile verilmesi gerektiğine dair görüşleri belirlenmiştir. Buna göre "gösteripyaptırma" ve "maketlerden yararlanma" ilk yardım eğitiminde katılımcı fen bilimleri öğretmenlerine göre önemli görülen tekniklerin başında gelmiştir. Fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarına verilecek ilk yardım eğitimi zorunlu bir ders gibi olmalı, ancak bu zorunlu ders, sıradan bir ders gibi değil, gösterip yaptırma tekniği kullanılarak, maketlerle, görsel materyaller ile desteklenerek, uzman davetleri ile pekiştirilerek ve hatta simülasyon ve arduino gibi teknolojik özelliklerle zenginleştirerek, geleceğin öğretmenlerini ilk yardım gerektiren durumlara hazır hale getirecek nitelikte olmalıdır
First aid is a vital point for the prevention of accidents that may occur in the school environments where students have spent a large part of their time or for proper intervention. The greatest responsibility is to the teachers. All teachers must have the knowledge of first aid to be able to interfere with sudden accidents that may occur in the school environment. In particular, this requirement is more advanced in terms of the use and experimentation of laboratory environments by teachers of science. In this regard, the determination of the opinions of teachers candidates for first aid education, which are the teachers of the future, is the purpose of the study. Starting from this goal, the work group has formed a total of 12 science teachers candidates who studied at a state university in Istanbul in the 2017-2018 academic year. For example, it is easy to identify the examples. A group of participants who participated voluntarily in the study was discussed. In the analysis of the data obtained from the interviews, content analysis from the quality research techniques was used. The data obtained from the research was interpreted and recommended for the results of the research. According to the findings obtained, according to the data obtained from the focus group interview of teachers candidates to determine how they define the concept of first aid, those defined as "accurate intervention in the case of traffic accidents" appear to be the whole of the participants, while the focus group interview of teachers candidates to determine the importance of first aid training was emphasized by all the participants that the idea is "important for the right and conscious intervention to be made". In the focus group interview aimed at determining the opinions of the scientists’ candidates for the first aid training in the bachelor’s programs, the idea of these training is “obligatory to be given in the education of the scientists” was mainly emphasized. Again, in the focus group discussion on determining the topics they think it is necessary in the first aid training requested to the participating teachers candidates, the topics of "basic life support" and "first aid in disadvantages" were seen as the main topics. According to the fifth and final focus group discussions, the opinions of the sciences teachers candidates are determined on which techniques or techniques should be provided for first aid training. According to this, "sighting" and "benefiting the cards" in the first aid training participating scientists have come to the forefront of the techniques considered important according to their teachers. The first-help training to be given to teachers candidates in science should be like a mandatory course, but this mandatory course should be able to make the future teachers prepared for the situations in which they need first-help, by using the showing and making techniques, by supporting the scratches, by visual materials, by reinforcing them by specialized invitations and even by enriching them with technological features such as simulation and arduino.

In particular, this requirement becomes more prominent in terms of science teachers' use and experimenting in laboratory environments. Accordingly, the aim of the study is to determine the opinions of prospective science teachers, who are future teachers, on this subject. Based on this purpose, a total of 12 science teacher candidates who study at a public university in Istanbul in the 2019-2020 academic year have been formed. Easily accessible case sampling was used to determine the sample. Focus group interviews were conducted with prospective teachers who voluntarily participated in the research. Content analysis, one of the qualitative research techniques, was used to analyze the data obtained from the interviews. The data obtained from the research were interpreted and suggestions for the research results were made. According to the data obtained from the focus group interview conducted to determine how science teacher candidates define the concept of first aid, according to the data obtained from the focus group meeting, it is seen that the pre-service teachers' opinions about the importance of first aid education are those who define it as "emergency response in case of traffic accidents". In the focus group meeting to determine the idea, it was advocated by all participants that "it is important for correct and conscious intervention". In the focus group meeting aimed at determining the views of science teacher candidates for the provision of first aid education in the undergraduate programs, the idea of "mandatory delivery of these trainings in science education" was emphasized. In the focus group meeting applied to determine the subjects that they think should be known especially in the first aid training asked to the participant-learner candidates, it has been determined that the issues of "basic life support" and "first aid in disaster situations" are perceived as the leading topics. According to the fifth and last focus group meeting, the opinions of science teacher candidates about which technique or techniques should be given first aid education were determined. Accordingly, "show-making" and "making use of mock-ups" are among the techniques that are deemed important in the first aid education compared to the participant science teachers. First aid education to be given to science teacher candidates should be like a compulsory course, but this compulsory course is not like an ordinary lesson, but it is enriched with demonstration techniques, supported with mock-ups, visual materials, reinforcing with expert invitations, and even technological features such as simulation and arduino will prepare future teachers for situations that require first aid.
