Bu çalışmanın amacı ilkokul öğrencilerinin hikâye kitabı hazırlamasının hikâye edici metin yazma becerisinin gelişimine etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma, deneysel modellerden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen olarak tasarlanmış ve çalışmanın bağımsız değişkeni hikâye kitabı hazırlamak, bağımlı değişkeni ise hikâye edici metin yazma becerisi olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın katılımcıları 33’ü deney grubu 33’ü kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 66 ilkokul 3. sınıf öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Uygulama sürecinde deney grubuna 6 haftalık süre içinde her hafta bir hikâye kitabı olmak üzere toplam 6 adet hikâye kitabı hazırlama çalışması yapılmıştır. Öğrenciler, kendi belirledikleri bir konuda birer hikâye yazmış, daha sonra hikâyelerini uygun görsellerle destekleyerek kendi tasarladıkları hikâye kitaplarını oluşturmuştur. Kontrol grubunda ise bu süreçte her hafta birer hikâye edici metin yazdırılmıştır. Ön test-son test verilerinin toplanması amacıyla deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere uygulamanın başında ve sonunda hikâye haritası yöntemiyle birer hikâye edici metin yazdırılmıştır. Ön test ve son test puanları Hikâye Elementleri Değerlendirme Ölçeği aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi için t-testi kullanılmıştır. 6 haftalık uygulamanın sonunda ulaşılan bulgulara göre deney grubu öğrencilerinin hikâye edici metin yazma puanları ile kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin hikâye edici metin yazma puanları arasında son testte deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuca göre ilkokul öğrencilerinin hikâye kitabı hazırlamasının hikâye edici metin yazma becerisi üzerinde etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of primary school students' storybook preparation on the development of narrative text writing skills. The study was designed as a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test control group from the experimental models. The independent variable of the study is to prepare a storybook. The dependent variable is the ability to write narrative texts. The participants of the study consisted of 66 primary school 3rd grade students, 33 of whom were in the experimental group and 33 were in the control group. A total of 6 storybooks, one storybook each week, were prepared for the experimental group during a 6-week period. Students wrote a story on the subject they determined and created storybooks by supporting the stories with visuals. In the control group, narrative texts were written every week in this process. In order to collect the data, a narrative text was written by the story map method at the beginning and end of both groups. Pre-test and post-test scores were collected through the Story Elements Evaluation Scale. The t-test was used for the analysis of the data. According to the findings reached at the end of the study, there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the narrative text writing scores of the experimental and control group students. According to this result, it was concluded that the preparation of a storybook by primary school students was effective on their ability to write a narrative text.
