Abstract:

The aim of this study was to determine relation between test anxiety, self-esteem and success of instrument training courses for candidates of music teacher. This study was performed with grade three and four students n=66 attending Music Teaching Department, Ataturk Faculty of Education, Marmara University. Data of the study was collected using Test Anxiety Inventory, Rosenberg Self –Esteem Scale, Personal Information Form and grades obtained by students in examinations of instrument training course and resultant data was analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient and Mann Whitney U test. In this study, a significantly relation was found between test anxiety level of music teacher candidates and instrument training success as well as between test anxiety level and self-esteem. No significant difference was found between self-esteem and instrument training success. Moreover, it was also evaluated whether test anxiety levels of student differ based on various variables
