Pre-season is a time when athletes begin their preparation after an interruption. Many athletes begin this phase with variations in physical performance and body composition. The present study aims to verify the influence of a microcycle in the preseason period on body composition in athletes of a professional futsal team. The sample counted on 15 professional futsal athletes that disputed the Special Division of Catarinense Championship 2017. The pre-season microcycle consisted of 11 days arranged in 23 training sessions. At the beginning and end of the microcycle, anthropometric measurements of body mass, height, body perimeters, skin folds and bone diameters were performed. Afterwards, the somatotype was determined and the body mass index, the sum of skinfolds and the percentage of fat were calculated. Significant statistic differences were verified between the pre-test and the post-test in the skinfolds of the iliac crest (p-value = 0.006), abdominal (p-value = 0.002), in the sum of cutaneous folds (p-value = 0.004) and in the fat percentage (p-value = 0.002). The results demonstrated that despite a short period of time, variations in body composition occurred in the athletes.
