Abstract:

It is useful for psychological consultants to consider specific aspects in order to be able to work with consultants with different personal and cultural characteristics. First of all, consultants relate to ethnic origin, gender, socio-economic level, disability, religion, spirituality, etc. It is useful to understand how personal and cultural characteristics affect their mental health. It is also one of the prerequisites for psychological consultants to be aware of their personal, cultural and professional values and their reflections on the psychological consultation process. In this direction, the psychological consultants, the individual, cultural, etc. They are expected to have basic skills/attitudes to provide mental health services or better psychological assistance in accordance with their characteristics and problems. Qualifications/attitudes such as multiculturalism, social justice and ability to work with consultants with different sexual orientations are the basic skills that psychological consultants are expected to have. The aim of this study is to study the levels of multiculturality, social justice and sexual attitude of school psychological consultants and psychological consultants candidates. The study group consisted of 108 school psychological consultants and 292 candidates for psychological consultants. In the analysis of the data, independent groups have been tested and one-way MANOVA has been used. Research findings have shown that there is no significant difference between psychological consultants and school psychological consultants’ multiculturalism, social justice and homosexuality attitudes. The multicultural psychological counseling skills of psychological counseling candidates and psychological counseling candidates have been examined by the gender-based one-way MANOVA test. As a result of the comparison, there was a significant difference between the candidates for psychological counseling in the low-degree of consciousness in favor of men, while a significant difference between the school psychological counseling in the low-degree of knowledge in favor of men.
