Abstract:

A global phenomenon is seen as a major threat to economic stability worldwide because criminals are associated with financial crime activities such as drug trafficking, terrorism financing, corruption and tax fraud. The development of technology and Bitcoin etc. Cryptocurrencies have become a devastating financial technology that has created new national security challenges to governments, offering opportunities to terrorist groups and organized crime organizations. Since its creation in 2009, the use of Bitcoin has increased twice worldwide. However, Bitcoin has been rapidly used to facilitate the financing of terrorism and the disarmament activities. Countries have gone to different regulations until allowing Bitcoin without prohibition. This incoherence is due to the fact that Bitcoin is not effectively classified. On the one hand, there are those who claim that Bitcoin is a currency, and on the other hand, there are those who claim that Bitcoin is a kind of asset. In our study, it is argued that the classification of Bitcoin as a new technology and the regulation should be based on private sector technology companies.
