Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti’nin Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkan ve küresel bir salgına dönüşen Koranavirüs’ten olumsuz etkilenen sektörlerden biri de turizm sektörü olmuştur. Toplumsal hayatın kısıtlandığı salgın sürecinde, turizm sektörüyle doğrudan ya da dolaylı etkileşim içinde olan sektörlerin faaliyetlerinin kısıtlanması veya yavaşlaması, küresel turizme darbe vurmuş, geleceğe ilişkin çözüm arayışlarını da hızlandırmıştır. Fiziki düzenlemelerden hizmet sunumlarındaki değişikliklere kadar uygulamaya konulması düşünülen ve üzerinde tartışılan tüm yöntemler sağlık odaklı olmuştur. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından, virüsün bulaşma hızının ve etkilerinin düşürülebilmesi için önerilen, toplumsal hareketliliğin kısıtlanması, sosyal izolasyonun sağlanması, kişilerarası mesafenin maksimum düzeyde tutulması ve maske takma zorunluluğu gibi korunma yöntemlerinin, sosyalleşmenin yoğun olduğu turizm sektörünün ileriye dönük pazarlama politikaları ve planlamalarında köklü değişimlere yol açacağı öngörülmektedir. Türkiye, alternatif turizm türlerine talebin artış gösterdiği bu süreçte, avantajlı konumda bulunan ülkeler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu açıdan değerlendirildiğinde, çalışmanın amacı, yeni Koranavirüs’ün ve bu süreçten sonra ortaya çıkabilecek başka salgınların müşteri tercihlerine olası etkileri doğrultusunda, Türkiye’deki alternatif turizm çeşitleri arasında yer alan kırsal turizm potansiyelinin incelenmesidir. Konuyla ilgili, bilimsel araştırmalardan, dökümanlardan, tablo ve istatistiklerden faydalanılan kavramsal çalışmada; kitle turizmi talebinin, bireysel seyahatlere doğru yoğunlaşabileceği, kırsal turizmin bu süreçte önemli bir seçenek olabileceği ve kırsal destinasyonlar bakımından Türkiye’nin zengin bir potansiyele sahip olmasına rağmen konaklama, pazarlama ve tanıtım açısından eksikliklerinin bulunduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılarak kırsal turizme ilişkin öneriler sunulmuştur.
One of the sectors negatively affected by Koranavirus, which emerged in the city of Wuhan of the People's Republic of China and became a global epidemic, was the tourism industry. In the epidemic process in which social life is limited, the limitation or slowdown of the activities of the sectors that are directly or indirectly interacting with the tourism sector has hit the global tourism and has also accelerated the search for solutions for the future. All the methods considered and discussed to be implemented from physical regulations to changes in service presentations have been health-focused. The World Health Organization proposed to reduce the rate and effects of the virus, restricting social mobility, ensuring social isolation, keeping the interpersonal distance at the maximum level and the obligation to wear masks, is expected to lead to radical changes in the future marketing policies and planning of the tourism sector where socialization is intense. Turkey, in this process where the demand for alternative tourism has increased, is among the countries that are in a favorable position. In this regard, the aim of the study is to explore the potential of rural tourism that is among the alternative tourism varieties in Turkey, according to the potential effects of the new Coranavirus and other epidemics that may arise after this process. Conceptual studies on the subject, using scientific research, documents, tables and statistics; the demand for mass tourism can be focused on individual travel, rural tourism can be an important option in this process, and although Turkey has a wealth of potential in terms of rural destinations, the results of the lack of accommodation, marketing and promotion have been presented with countryside tourism recommendations.
The tourism sector has been one of the sectors that have been adversely affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) , having started as a global epidemic in Wuhan province of the Republic of China. During the epidemic process in which social life has been restricted, the restriction or slowdown of the activities of sectors engaged directly or indirectly with the tourism sector has dealt a blow to global tourism and accelerated its search for solutions for the future. All methods that are considered and discussed have been health-oriented, from physical regulations to changes in service presentations. It is anticipated by the World Health Organization that the proposed methods of prevention, such as restricting social mobility, ensuring social isolation and maximum interpersonal distance will lead to radical changes in the forward-looking marketing policies and planning of the tourism sector. In this period that demand for alternative tourism species is increasing, Turkey has an advantageous position. From this perspective, the aim of the study is to examine the potential of rural tourism in Turkey in accordance with the possible effects of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and other outbreaks that may be seen after this process. In this study, which has qualitative research, the scientific studies and documents on the subject have been used. As a result of the study, it was concluded that mass tourism will evolve towards individual trips, that although Turkey has rich potential in rural destinations, there are shortcomings in terms of accommodation and marketing, that the standards of service where health safety is kept at the forefront should be achieved quickly integration into the tourism sector and that short medium and long-term planning should be made in the next possible health-caused crises.
