Büyük Selçuklu dönemi çini ve seramikleri, 12.-13.yy. larda kozmopolit bir ortamda farklı din ve görüşlere sahip bir coğrafyada ortaya çıkmıştır. Birbirinden farklı ancak birbirini destekleyen birçok tekniğin içinde olduğu ve zengin konu ve kompozisyonlarıyla dikkat çeken minai, dönemin en ilginç tekniğidir. Dönemin sanatçıları, seramik ve çini yüzeyleri özellikle dönemin İran edebiyatından alınan popüler aşk ve halk hikâyelerini, efsaneleri ve kahramanlık destanları gibi el yazması metinlerin içindeki minyatürlerden esinlenerek oluşturdukları kompozisyonlarla dekorlamışlardır. Kendine özgü bir süsleme yöntemiyle minai, seramik yüzeylerde yer alan ve aynı dönem el yazması eserlerde de görülen minyatür tasvirlerindeki süslemeyle benzerlik göstermesinden dolayı “minyatür geleneği gösteren minaili seramikler” olarak da adlandırılabilir. Bu çalışma, Büyük Selçuklu döneminde görülen minai teknikli seramik kaplardaki konu, kompozisyon ve desen özelliklerinin kökeni ve etkileşiminin örneklerle açıklanmasını amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmada Firdevs’inin Şehnamesinden alınan ‘Behrâm-ı Gûr ve Azada’ hikâyesinin el yazması eserlerden minaili seramik kaplara uygulanışı, hikâyenin anlatımına yönelik bilgiler, edinilen kaynaklar ve görseller doğrultusunda araştırmada değerlendirilmiştir.
The Great Selchuklu era of chines and ceramics, 12-13.yy. It appeared in a cosmopolitan environment in a geography with different religions and views. The minai, which is in many different but supporting each other techniques and attracts attention with its rich subjects and compositions, is the most interesting technique of the time. The artists of the time have decorated the ceramic and chinical surfaces, especially the popular love and popular stories taken from the Iranian literature of the time, with compositions they create by inspired by the miniatures in the handwriting texts, such as legends and heroic narratives. With a unique decoration method, the minai can also be called "minai ceramics that show the tradition of the miniature" because it appears similar to the decoration in the miniature paintings that are located on the ceramic surfaces and seen in the same period's handwriting works. This study aims to explain with examples the origin and interaction of the subject, composition and pattern characteristics of minai-technical ceramic containers seen in the Great Selçuklu period. Furthermore, the research has been evaluated in the study according to the use of handwriting of the story of 'Behrâm-i Gûr and Azada' from the works, the application of the ceramic containers, the information about the story, the sources acquired and the images.
The tiles and ceramics of the Great Seljuk Empire emerged in a cosmopolitan environment in geography with different religions and impacts in the 12th-13th centuries. Minai, which draws attention with its rich subjects and compositions, is the most interesting technique of the empire. The artists decorated ceramic and the tile surfaces with compositions inspired by miniatures in manuscripts such as popular love and folk tales, legends, and heroic epics, especially taken from Iranian literature of the empire. Minai, with its unique ornamentation method, can also be called "ceramics with minai that reflect the tradition of miniature", since it is similar to the ornamentation in miniature depictions on ceramic surfaces and seen in manuscripts of the same period. This study, it is aimed to explain the origin and interaction of the subject, composition, and pattern features of the minai technique using ceramic vessels seen in the Great Seljuk Empire, which includes examples. Additionally, the application of the story of ‘Behrâm-i Gûr and Azade', that coming from the Şehname of Firdevs, to the ceramics with minai vessels from the manuscripts was explained in the research using the sources and the visuals.
