Abstract:

In recent years, the chances of survival of premature and high-risk babies have increased significantly. The share of developmental care practices in this is quite large. The developmental care is quite old. The focus of developmental care is the organization of the newborn intensive care unit (YBU) environment to support the baby's neurological system. Over the years, the importance of developmental care and practice for healthcare workers has gained. First, five basic measurements were implemented in the developmental care framework. These are: the maintenance of sleep, the valuation of pain and stress, the management of daily life activities (position, nutrition and skin care), a family-centered care and healing environment. It was then re-classed and expanded. The Neuroprotective seven basic measurements for family-centered developmental care defined in the Integrative Development Care Model include: (1) the healing environment, (2) the partnership with the family, (3) the provision of position and care, (4) the maintenance of sleep, (5) the reduction of stress and pain, (6) the protection of the skin and (7) the provision of good nutrition. Some institutions and associations around the world have created guidelines for developmental care practices and implement them according to specific standards.
