Dünya ekonomisinde ve siyasetinde önemli bir konuma gelen “Çok Uluslu Şirketler”, günümüzde hem siyaset bilimciler hem de ekonomistler için araştırma konusu olmuştur. Ekonomik ve siyasi bakımından daha da güçlenen çok uluslu şirketlerin gücü, ulus devletlerin gücü ile kıyaslanır duruma gelmiştir. Bazı yazarlar çok uluslu şirketlerin, ulus devletlerin sahip olduğu yasama, yürütme, yargı ve silahlı kuvvetlere sahip olmadıklarından ulus devletlerin hâlâ politik ve ekonomik güç olarak etkisini sürdürdüğünü iddia ederler. Bazıları ise çok uluslu şirketlerin sahip oldukları ekonomik varlıklar ve ulus devletlerin karar alma süreçlerini etkileyebilme güçleri ile ulus devletlerin egemenlik alanını önemli ölçüde sınırladığını ileri sürerler. Bu çalışmanın amacı; ekonomik bir olgunun sadece kendisi ile değil, aynı zamanda, siyasal yönleriyle de incelenmesi ile ilgilidir. Ayrıca, çok uluslu şirketlerin organizasyon yapıları ile Dünya Bankası, International Monetary Fund (IMF) ve Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) gibi uluslararası ekonomik kuruluşlarla ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın bir bölümünde Türkiye ile ilgili değerlendirmelere yer verilmiştir.
"Multi-National Companies", which have a significant position in the world economy and politics, today have become a subject of research for both political scientists and economists. The power of multinational companies, which are even stronger in economic and political terms, has become comparable to the power of national states. Some authors claim that multinational companies do not have the legislation, execution, justice and armed forces that the national states still have their influence as a political and economic power. Some argue that multinational companies possess the economic assets and the power of national states to influence the decision-making processes and that national states significantly limit the area of sovereignty. The purpose of this study is to study an economic phenomenon not only with itself, but also with its political aspects. In addition, the multinational companies have been studied their organizational structures and their relations with international economic organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD). In some of the studies, there are assessments on Turkey.

The strength of the multinational corporations, which are getting stronger day by day in economic and political terms, is comparable to the power of nation states. Some authors argue that nation-states still maintain their influence as political and economic power because multinational companies do not have the legislative, executive, judiciary and armed forces that nation-states have. Others argue that multinational corporations have a significant limitation on the sovereignty of nation-states because of their tendency to spread worldwide their economic assets and their ability to influence the decision-making processes of nation states. The aim of this study is that it concerns not only the economic but also political aspects. In a part of the study, evaluations about Turkey are included.
