Van Gölü Havzası sınırları içerisinde yer alan ve Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nin önemli şehirlerinden biri olan Van İli, tarihi sürecinde birçok medeniyet ve devlete ev sahipliği yapmış olmasının doğal sonucu olarak tarihi ve kültürel miras açısından çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Bu eserler içerisinde Hıristiyan dini mimarisi yapıları mimari üsluplarının yanı sıra taş bezeme öğeleriyle günümüze kadar varlığını sürdürmüştür. Söz konusu eserlere yönelik çeşitli araştırma ve yayınlar olmasına rağmen, bu yapıların cephe programı düzenlemesinde dikkat çeken taçkemer plastik bezemelerin şimdiye kadar detaylı olarak incelenmedikleri görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Van’daki Hıristiyan dini mimarisi yapılarının cephe süsleme programı düzenlemesinde taçkemer plastik bezemelerin tanıtılması amaçlanmıştır. Cephelerde pencere ve üçgen niş üzerlerinde yer alan toplamda 18 adet bitkisel ve geometrik motifli taçkemer plastik bezeme çalışılmıştır. Gerek görsel gerek teknik olarak belgelenen plastik süsleme örnekleri aynı zamanda çevre kültürlerin benzer örnekleriyle karşılaştırılarak değerlendirmeye tabi tutulmuştur.
Located within the borders of the Van Lake Basin and one of the important cities of the Eastern Anatolian Region, Van Illi is a natural result of having hosted many civilizations and state in its historical and cultural heritage. In these works, Christian religious architectural structures have continued to exist until today, along with their architectural styles as well as stone-covered elements. Although there are various research and publications on the works concerned, it is clear that the trunk metal plastic clothes that attract attention in the framework of these structures have not yet been detailedly studied. In this study, it is intended to introduce crocodile plastic clothes in the organization of the front decoration program of Christian religious architecture structures in Van. In the fronts on the windows and triangular niche, a total of 18 plant and geometric-motivated crocodile plastics have been worked. Plastic decoration samples, which are technically documented in visual need, are also subject to evaluation by comparing with similar samples of environmental cultures.

In this study, it is aimed to introduce the crown-arch plastic ornaments in the arrangement of the façade decoration program of the Christian religious architecture buildings in Van. A total of 18 vegetative and geometric crown-arch plastic ornaments on windows and triangular niches were studied on the façades. Plastic decoration samples, both visually and technically documented, were also evaluated by comparing them with similar samples of surrounding cultures.
