Abstract:

This study aims to study the relationship between parents’ attitudes towards parentality and their assessments towards their children’s behaviors. Parents’ attitudes towards parentality and their children’s behavior characteristics were also evaluated by gender of the participants. Correlational screening model was used in the study. The study group consisted of 526 parents, including 288 (54.75) mothers and 238 (45.25%) fathers living in the center of Samsun province. The research work group was created using the easy-to-access sample method. The data of the study have been collected with the Turkish-adjusted "Eytö Attitude Measurement (Eytö)" by Selecker, Steliköz and Yaşa (2008) and the Turkish-adjusted "Short Mizaç Measurement (CIKMÖ) for Children" by Rağmurlu and Sanson (2009) and "Personal Information Form". Before the data was analyzed, it was studied whether the data showed normal distribution, and when the values of confusion and confusion were studied, it was found that the data showed normal distribution. The analysis of the data was carried out through the t test and the Pearson Correlation Analysis. In the analysis of the research data, it was found that the attitude towards parenthood did not show significant differences in terms of gender according to all subfactors. It has been found that there are positive relationships between parents’ satisfaction points and parents’ interest points and parents’ sufficiency perception points. The results from this study were discussed in the summer and subsequently submitted in various recommendations.
