Abstract:

The most important problem for entrepreneurs is the difficulties they experience in accessing financial resources. Today, the mass funding model is one of the new financial methods that entrepreneurs use to reach the capital they need. The use of the mass funding model in Turkey began in 2010. However, due to legal obstacles, until the amendment of the law on 5 December 2017, only the reward-based and donation-based mass funding model was applied. The amendment to the law has taken the stock-based mass funding model into the legislation but does not include the debt-based mass funding model. The implementation of this model, the most applied and highest funding in the world, is believed to increase the use of the Mass Funding model. In Turkey, a new model is proposed to ensure the implementation of the debt-based mass funding model. Method - Studying the world practices related to debt-based mass funding, a model is created that is unique to our country. The findings - The study of world practices has concluded that debt-based mass funding is the most commonly used mass funding type. The model for the implementation of Turkey, called "Integrating Debt Based Mass Funding", was proposed and opened to debate. It is believed that the proposed model will increase the amount of funds collected with the number of projects that will be implemented by the use in the mass funding applications in Turkey and will be a preferred investment method for investors.
