Özet:

ABSTRACT In this study, the effects of pre- and in-service training of police officers rendering security service to professional disciplinary process have been investigated. The study sample consists of police officers who began their careers within the Turkish National Police in 2005, 2006 and in 2007 and are still on active duty, graduated either from Police Vocational High School (PVHS) or Police Vocational Training Centre (PVTC). The sample is selected with a simple random sampling method from about 10% of police officers who started to work in 2005, 2006 and in 2007 at Turkish National Police among the graduates of both PVHS and PVTC. The research has found that when the level of education of police officers increases, the level of involving criminal behaviors significantly decreases. Keywords: police education, police crimes, police deviancy, police-citizen relations, professional discipline of police.   In this study, police officers who provide internal security services have been investigated the impact of the pre-professional and in-service training levels they have on professional disciplinary crimes. The sample of the study was made by the General Directorate of Security (EGM) at approximately 10% of the level of chosen police officers by the simple random sample method, separate from the officials from the Police Professional High School and the Police Professional Training Center, which began and continued to be in office in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
