Abstract:

Bu araştırmada sosyolojinin öncü isimlerinden biri olan Emile Durkheim’in ahlak ve değerler eğitimi hakkındaki görüşleri ele alınmış, zaman zaman da Türk eğitim sistemiyle karşılaştırmalar yapılarak ideal vatandaş modeli değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Durkheim’in ahlak eğitimi anlayışının özünde ulus devlet ideolojisi olduğu ve eğitim sistemini bu anlamda merkeze aldığı tespit edilmiştir. Toplumu oluşturan tüm bireylerin ortak norm ve değerler paylaşması gerektiğini düşünen Durkheim, kendini vatanına ve ait olduğu topluma adamış bir gelecek nesil tasarlamıştır. Bu neslin yetiştirilebilmesi için çocuklara erken yaşlardan itibaren ulusal çıkarlara hizmet eden ahlak eğitiminin verilmesi gerektiğini düşünmektedir. Durkheim, ahlak eğitimin verilmesinde öğretmene önemli sorumluluklar yüklemiş, öğretmenin, devletin temsilcisi olduğunu düşünerek dominant bir öğretmen profili çizmiştir. Öğrencileri ise kendini otoriteye teslim etmiş pasif, itaatkâr ve fedakâr bireyler olarak idealize etmiştir. Araştırmanın ana argümanı Durkheim’in Ahlak Eğitimi adlı çalışmasıdır. Ayrıca çeşitli makaleleri ve çalışmaları da incelenerek idealize ettiği vatandaş modeli ortaya konulmuştur.

Abstract:

In this study, one of the leading names of sociology, Emile Durkheim’s views on moral and values education were discussed, and from time to time, comparisons with the Turkish education system were attempted to evaluate the ideal citizen model. Durkheim’s conception of moral education is found to be the nation’s state ideology and the educational system is centered in this sense. Durkheim, who believes that all the individuals that make up society should share common norms and values, has designed a future generation dedicated to his homeland and to the society to which he belongs. He believes that to educate this generation, children should be given moral education that serves national interests from the early age. Durkheim has taken the teacher significant responsibilities in giving moral education, and has drawn a dominant teacher profile considering that the teacher is a representative of the state. Students have idealized themselves as passive, obedient and sacrificing individuals who have delivered themselves to authority. The main argument of the study is Durkheim’s study of Ethical Education. It has also revealed the citizen model that it has been idealized by studying various articles and works.
