Abstract:

One of the best ways for disabled individuals to participate in economic and social life is to be employed. It is known that a significant portion of the disabled population in Turkey is not involved in the workforce. Those who are in employment, on the other hand, are also facing significant problems in their work life. The main issues of these are physical obstacles at work, attitudes and prejudices towards disabled workers, in unqualified jobs, being forced to work with low wages, lack of advancement opportunities. The purpose of this study is to examine the problems faced by disabled workers in the example of Çanakkale or. A qualitative research was carried out with nine disabled workers employed by the Kota system. The data is collected with a semi-configured interview form. The data obtained from the interviews has been analyzed through the Maxqda Analytics Pro 2020 program. According to the findings obtained, the problems that participants focus most intensely on are their work under their qualities, the fact that open jobs are not suitable for the disabled and the negative attitude of the employer. Disabled workers want to break the beliefs that they will not do anything because they are disabled. They say that the society and the employers will be more efficient if they trust them.
