Abstract:

The author concept, which was first presented by the Cahiers du Cinema magazine and theoretized in advanced periods, focuses on the interior world of the director. This theory, which is dominated by the idea that the person in the film is the director, puts the director in the main role as the creator in the films. Depending on the author theory, the author critic method focuses on whether the director is the author. In this study on Danish director Thomas Vinterberg's cinema, the author critic method used the answer to whether the director is the author director. As an example of the film, the film was filmed by the director. The characteristics that should be observed in the authors' criticism in the context of the authors' theory have been studied throughout the article. In this context, the characteristics that upload the author rating to the director have been tried to be identified through films. The director’s films were viewed and studied to identify the common motives, concepts and themes he used in his films. In the whole of the study, we looked at where Thomas Vinterberg, one of the leading directors of the Danish cinema, stands within the author rank. A review of the director’s film.
