Abstract The aim of the study is to determine the role of Green Key implementation in hotels within the green marketing strategy. In the research, first of all, secondary sources were used by making a literature review for the conceptualization of the subject. Afterwards, in order to benefit from primary sources; according to the information received from Turkey Environmental Education Foundation, hotel businesses in Ankara that are members of the Green Key implementation were reached. Five of the six hotels with the Green Key award for 2022 in Ankara agreed to hold interviews. The findings obtained from the face-to-face interviews with the semi-structured interview form tool were analyzed descriptively. In addition, observations were made in hotels that allow. In the study; it has been found that Green Key is preferred because of its environmental awareness, it is effective especially in the preference of the hotel by foreign guests and some travel agencies, the hotels plan to include the implementation on their websites, and the images and information about the implementation are included in the hotel.
