Le texte littéraire avait été longtemps utilisé avant et au début du XXe siècle comme instrument didactique dans le développement des compétences de l’apprenant en formation de langue étrangère et délaissé pourtant jusqu’aux méthodologies communicatives. L’objectif de cette recherche est d’examiner et de révéler son remaniement comme support authentique, dans le manuel de français «Archipel», paru au début des années 80, fondé sur l’approche communicative. Pour ce faire, les trois livres du manuel ont été analysés d’une manière comparative afin de mettre en évidence et en discussion la fréquence d'utilisation des textes, la diversité des genres littéraires et les caractéristiques géographiques et temporelles des auteurs sélectionnés par les concepteurs de l'ouvrage. Notre recherche se veut une étude descriptive qui sera réalisée par la méthode d'analyse de documents. Les données ont été obtenues par analyse de contenu. Selon les résultats obtenus à l’issu de cette recherche, bien que le manuel présente certaines lacunes en termes d'activités pédagogiques associées aux textes littéraires, il pourrait être considéré comme un support pédagogique idéal et pertinent pour véhiculer la culture cible du fait qu’il offre progressivement une riche variété de textes en nombre croissant en termes de matériel, soigneusement sélectionné, compte tenu de la langue et niveau d'éducation du public cible.

The Use Of Literary Text As An Authentic Support In The Teaching Of Ffl: Example Of Archipel

Literary text was used for a long time as a didactic support in the development of students’ language skills before and at the beginning of the XXth century, but it was ignored until it came to communicative methods. The aim of this study is to examine and reveal how the literary text is reused as an original document in the French teaching book « Archipel», , which was prepared based on the communicative method in the early 80’s.To do this, the three manuals of the Archipel were analyzed in a comparative way in order to characterize and discuss the frequency of use of the texts, the diversity of literary genres and the geographical and temporal characteristics of the authors selected by the designers of the structure. Our research is intended to be a descriptive study that will be carried out using the document analysis method. The data was obtained by content analysis. According to the findings obtained as a result of this research, although the Archipel textbook shows some shortcomings in terms of educational activities based on literary texts, it can be considered as an ideal and appropriate teaching support in transferring the target culture because it offers a rich variety of texts in increasing numbers in terms of carefully selected material, taking into account the language and education level of the target audience.
