Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 1996-2006 dönemindeki verilerle ihracat, ithalat ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırıldı. Birim kök testi sonuçlarına göre tüm serilerin birinci farklarında durağan oldukları görüldü. Johansen’nın Eşbütünleşme testi sonuçları ihracat, ithalat ve ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönem denge ilişkisinin olduğunu ve üç eşbütünleşim vektörü olduğunu gösterdi. Seriler eşbütünleşik olduklarından, nedensellik testinin yapılması için vektör hata düzeltme modeli kullanıldı. Ampirik sonuçlar kısa dönemde ithalat, ihracat ve ekonomik büyüme arasında iki yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi olduğunu gösterdi. Hata Düzeltme Modeline göre uzun dönemde, ihracattan ithalata, ithalattan ihracata, büyümeden ihracata ve büyümeden ithalata doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu sonucuna varıldı
This study examined the causal relationship between exports, imports and economic growth of Turkey with data from 1996-2006. The unit root test results showed that all of the series were stable in the first differences. Johansen's Integration Test results showed that there was a long-term balance relationship between exports, imports and economic growth and there were three integration vectors. Since the series are integrated, the vector error correction model was used to perform the causality test. The empirical results showed that in the short term there was a two-way causal relationship between imports, exports and economic growth. According to the Error Correction Model, a long-term causal relationship from export to import, from import to export, from growth to export and from growth to import has been concluded.
